OK, I'm a newbie to MRV. I have an S3 Tivo (and a couple of TivoHDs), and what I want to do is have my PC automatically pull any non-suggestion recording from the S3 and save it locally, then publish it so that I can get it back to the Tivo if I need to.

Tivo Desktop doesn't seem up to the task, as near as I can tell I can only set up auto-transfers on a per series basis. I installed Galleon and gave that a try and found it unmanageable and largely incomprehensible. Is there anything out there that will run on Windows or Linux that can do what I want simply?

I haven't used it, but this (http://www.tvharmony.com/products.php) might be a candidate.

Galleon will allow you to create rules for a particular DVR according to the show name. Specifically it has a "contains" option. Set up rules for "a", "b", "c", etc. 26 in all for your S3. I tried this today and set up rules for "s" and my Galleon server happily started filling itself with shows that had "s" anywhere in the name. A bit brute force but it'll get the job done.

Try Galleon on a Windows box. The Linux version requires a little bit of patience to get going.

Good Idea. A Galleon rule for "Size" "More Than" "0" will also work.

Is there a way to get Galleon to skip the Tivo Suggestions? The documentation on what's works in rules is sparse.

You could turn off Suggestions in the Tivo Settings.
