TIVO HD and DVD burn

OK Ive looked around and I cant find a specific answer.

With files taken off a TIVO HD, using tivo desktop what does it take to create a dvd that can be played anywhere?

Ive tried Nero and My DVD no luck nero doesnt recognize the file My DVD makes a DVD without audio?
