I am finally going to upgrade my 2 older DVRs to HD. Getting a new 720p pioneer plasma and figured might as well go for it. My questions are how do the HD dvrs compare to the old tivo direct tv dvrs with respect to menu system. Need to make sure just as simple so wife can use it. Also when they do the install does direct tv just install the new dish or do they hook up all my components like dvd recorder and stereo receiver.

IMHO, the HR20 is for those who could set the clock on their old VCR. I dont really like it but many do. The HR10 is for everyone ( just like the SD tivos but slower) but it does not get all the HD programming.
I was hoping the HR20 was an upgrade but ended up having to reinstall my HR10. The HR10 is being used the most ( it does get OTA HD) with my wife slowly using the HR20 more (i.e. watching HGTV in HD). And how can she complain with 4 tuners!

The DirecTV installers will ot connect your other components. They will just connect the new receiver and make sure it is setup and working. So, you should make plans for that.
