For the last few weeks, I have had picture freezes on Cox's expanded basic channels (unencrypted QAM in Phoenix). The premium and HD channels do not have this problem. Basically, the picture freezes for about 2 seconds and then restarts again. Tivo sent me a new box for $49 last week. I continue to have the same problem. After going through a few customer service technicians, Tivo now thinks the cable cards are the problem. Could Cable Cards cause this problem with channels that are on the expanded basic tier? If I can fix the problem by pulling out the cards, does it necessarily mean the cards are bad?
