I have far more HDMI devices than I have plugs in the back of my TV so I ended up buying a HDMI 5 port switch from monoprice.com along with most all my cables. Last night I was watching TV when I decided to play something on the PS3, grabbed the remote, changed settings and I played for a couple hours. When I went back to the TV it said something about not being able to display video on the HDMI port, a second later the video appeared. If I am playing a game and something is set to record will it record the program or the grey screen that I saw for a few seconds when tuning back to the TV?

Thanks

You might be seeing a delay for the HDMI handshake. I see this on my TV every time I turn it on. Mine is routed through a Panasonic receiver and then into the TV. I've never had issues with recordings affected by this. You can test by starting a recording, then playing PS3 for a bit and go back.

Your recordings will be unaffected. The HDMI warning affects only the display at the time.
