I set up my new TiVo HD using my old Sony XBR 27" SD TV (the new Bravia didn't get delivered until today), and I noticed an awful amount of flicker on the grid guide, and on the initial yellow of the "powering up" screen. Closer examination showed that just about all the overlays (info, the other guide format, etc.) had some amount of flicker, although not as noticeable.
The guide, etc. are rock solid and flicker-free over the HDMI connection to the new TV, but it's probably got a much wider colour gamut than the old TV (it can handle HDMI 1.3, while the old TV only had to process NTSC signals, or at most S-video).
I was wondering if anybody else had noticed this when hooking up an old TV.
