Remote wont work, got a new one only worked for a day?

My tivo is about 4 years old and the remote just went out. I replaced the batteries but it didnt help, and just figured that it was due to age... Bought another off a guy it worked for a day then went out,, same as first remote NO buttons worked.. reset the tivo and still not working...
Anyone ever had this happen?:mad:

IR interference from another remote. Check the room and remove all other remotes or pull the batteries out of the other remotes one at a time. You probably have another remote with a stuck button that is sending out interference.

Try using the remote up close to the unit. This way your body can block any outside interference if there is any.

I had the same problem. It lasted for a few weeks. I then realized that I had recently added a new fluorescent reading lamp to the room. I found that when the reading lamp was on my Tivo remote was useless. Turned off the lamp everything was fine. Could this be your problem?
