It appears you can turn on Closed Captioning through the channel banner. But is there a button you can push on the remote to turn CC on and off (similar to what I can do with my DVD player with subtitles?).
Is there only one way to turn on CC, through the channel banner?

S-P-S-9-S will toggle the close caption and time (on the lower right). Time on CC off; Time off CC on.

This seems more cumbersome than pressing info and navigating to CC. I was hoping for a one button option.
Thanks for the info though :)

If you have a remote with macros it becomes a one-button operation. Thanks for the info!

No, there isn't a shortcut to toggle captions on and off. At the very least, I wish that TiVo would make the "CC" selection in the Info-Screen a toggle instead of a shortcut to the CC options. Using one of the TiVo-# shortcuts or TiVo-Mute as a toggle would be even better and much more appreciated (by me) than MusicChoice, One True Media, etc, etc, etc.
Here are two hints:
1. After turning captions on or off, just press Select twice to return to your show. You don't have to navigate the menus. (This works when returning from most all menus.)
2. Press Pause to preserve your place when watching live or buffered TV before toggling CC. That's especially useful if you're watching something from the buffer and don't want to be thrown out to live TV when returning from the CC menu.
