I just ordered a new HD DVR, I believe it is the HR20 (the 4mpeg dvr). I am also getting the new 5lnb dish installed. In my bedroom I have 2 coax cables ran to the outside. I would like to use these 2 cables for my new hd hr20 dvr, but i would also like to have an ota antenna connected. is this possible to do with a diplexer? I really want an OTA antenna so when the satellite goes out, i will still be able to watch regular tv via the antenna. Please let me know your thoughts. thank you.

From what I understand you can't diplex OTA with the new 5 LNB setup.

Make sure the installer leaves you an HR20 and not an HR21. The latter has no OTA capabilities - and that's what most of the installers seem to be delivering now.

If you ordered from D*, then the installer should run the antenna cable along with everything else. Just call D* back and make sure it's on the work order.

I expect a third cable will be required to run from your OTA antenna to the HR20.
