View Full Version : Voom box - Issues with scanning local channels

I am using a VOOM box to tune digital OTA broadcasts with my series 2 Tivo. My only issue is getting the VOOM box to recognize NBC's over the air signal. I'm in Chicagoland and NBC is broadcast as channel 5.1. Voom finds all other OTA channels, but not NBC. It tells me that there is no signal when I manually tune to channel 5-1.
Ironically, when I tune to channel 5 directly using the ATSC tuner built into my LCD tv, the channel comes in great.
Thanks for any help you can lend!

I'm not able to help you on your question. Sorry...but...
I've purchased an old Voom box to tune OTA as you are, but in my case, the scanning for local signals fails to recognize anything. I am able to get OTA digital on another tuner off the same antenna I am using for Voom. I wanted to try the manual tune, but could use some guidance on how to do so--its not obvious to me at least how to manually tune as I know there are locals signals I could pick up. Am also wondering whether my software version 02.4c may not allow the tuning to work on scan. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks--I have seen that--my prob is that I can't get to step 2 as the scan of the ATSC fails...
