Since one of my TIVOS is an older one (Series 2) it will not accept a cable card. Thus, I am forced to RENT another set top box from Comcast at 6 dollars/month in order to see the digital channels on my TV while I'm recording something else on TIVO.

A cable card reader, which took the signal from the wall, and connected separately to my TV would allow me to avoid the 6 dollar/month charge.

A cable card (from Comcast) is only 1.79/month. It's clearly a better way to go.

There is a device from ATI that is supposed to be used with computers. Would this work with my TV?

I would have to go with a big loud no also, as the S2 would have to have drivers written for it to be able to use it. And we all know how good TiVo are at getting drivers for items that are allowed to use the USB ports (network adapters) don't we?

You would want a 3rd party cablecard cablebox. TMK, there is no such thing on the market.

Otherwise you need to upgrade to a TiVoHD or Series 3.

The ATI OCUR tuner is only for Cablelabs approved PC systems.
