Today i saw the weirdiest message on a tivo, "updating database, this will take a long time." What does this message mean?? Thank you

Update your hard drive recently? Also, did you make it through the screen or is it still sitting there?

well, it wasn't my tivo, my friends, he called me up to see what that message was about, just in case i knew, but i didnt know what it meant. i dont know if his updated his hard drive. i can ask him and see if it moved from that screen. what this meassage really mean?

AFAIK, it comes with a software update, where the database structure is changed.

Hope his nice perfect running 6.2a software didn't just update to 6.3e.
If so he's in for a load of headaches. Or did he have 6.3e already?

Wouldn't it be a lovely Holiday miracle if they fixed the software?
