Has anyone else noticed a problem setting up a SP for Tin Man on Sci Fi? I tried to set one up and kept getting a message that "two other programs are already scheduled" but I was scheduling it for the 11:00 pm showing. I also tried the 1:00 am showing, got the same message. I know I have no conflicts at those times.
So I just went in there and did a "record this show" for each of the 3 parts. I don't really understand why TiVo had trouble with this.
I just accepted it as it was first displayed. Then I went into the season pass manager and positioned it to the desired priority.
It conflicted at 9 and 11 with other sp's but I gave it priority over the sp for 11.
It might tell you there is a problem with a certain time slot, but that does not necessarily mean it won't record automatically at another time.
1. Select it as Season Pass.
2. Position priority in Season Pass Manager.
3. "View upcoming episodes" to see if you're satisfied with the Tivo's scheduling of the show.

It didn't. You can't get a Season Pass for a certain time. It will automatically try to record the first showing, and if there are conflicts the second showing, etc. It was just alerting you that there were conflicts for the first showing.
If you had paged down on the warning screen (channel down button), it would have listed the showings it wouldn't record and the showings that it would.

I understand that TiVo doesn't do an SP by selecting a time. Yes, I know TiVo knows how to prioritize in conflicts but it has been my experience that if you select "record this SP anyways" that it will move it to number 1 on the SP list and then one of your other two programs won't be recorded.
Wouldn't I have then had to go to the SP list and drop it down?
No, just don't say "record this SP anyway", and it will take any available showings instead of the first one.

OK. That's what I've done in the past now that I think about it. I just thought that if you chose a particular time to start your SP it would start with that show. As Rob explained, it doesn't work like that.
