I added a b: drive to my sony sat-60 several years ago. Now my b: drive is crashed . It will not spin up. Is there any way to save anything from my a: drive? Or do I just get a new image from DVRupgrade and reimage my a: drive?

The A drive's contents are toast. Reimage the A drive (better, replace it with a larger single drive.)

Did this happen all of a sudden? I once had a hard drive in a computer that just decided one day to not spin up. After sharp tap to the side of the drive with the handle of a screwdriver the drive then spun up. There's a thing called "stiction (sp?)" that causes a drive to just get stuck.

One of the major drawbacks of dual drive systems. One drive crashes, and the other drives contents are toasted as well. Move to a single drive system.
