Recently acquired a Tosh 36ZP48 CRT and though the pic is great it doesn't seem to like Tivo that much. Often (but not always) when I switch the TV on it just sits there with no pic or sound. The screen has fired up OK but nothing shows. Usually if you wait long enough a dim picture will appear followed 30 secs or so later by full pic and sound.
The thing is if I unplug Tivo from the SCART or even just put it into AUX mode so that it sends the Freeview box signal straight through then the TV works fine straight away.
If I use the unplug 'fix' I can then set the TV to use the (unplugged) SCART as input, plug theTivo back in and all seems to work fine.
Like I say it doesn't always do this when I switch on but does do it often enough to be annoying.
Any ideas?

Could it be the teletext bug?

From the sticky at the top of the page.

TV problems when TiVo is on
Some users are reporting problems with their TV's after the upgrade to V2.5.5 (mainly Philips but some Sony, Toshiba and other stes) - these include the TV switching itself off and inability to change the volume (or other odd remote control issues when trying to use the TV). Ring up customer services and request the V2.5.5a update which will remove the Teletext subtitle recording feature which these sets do not like.

I think it may be. Had originally discounted this 'cause had a Philips 36" CRT befor and assumed it would hae showed up with that but didn't.
Not had any strange switching off or interrupts once the pic arrives but will try the FTP fix for teletext bug tomorrow and see what happens.

Thanks guys.
Did the FTP teletext fix this morning (to all 3 Tivos!) and TV now behaving impeccably.
As usual the community comes up trumps.
