Anyone know whether the Tivo s/w on the Comcast motorola DVR box will let you customize the channel list like you can on a Tivo S3/HD box? Unfortunately, you can't customize the channel list with the current Comcast guide software, so am hoping that the Tivo software functions like I'm used to on my Tivo S3

You can in fact customize the channels within the guide... sort of. First, you need to create a favorites list. Then by pressing "menu", selecting the heart icon, and selecting the favorites list, you get only the channels you want in the guide format. I love doing this as I only see the channels I want to see. Hope this helped.

Are you referring to the existing Comcast guide? If so, the problem with 'favorites' customization is that you can't use it to channel surf - you can only increment up through the channels, but can't go backwards. They have so much garbage on their system that I'd rather just make most of it go away... :)

I am refering to the existing comcast guide. I wasn't aware that too many people just pressed ch+ and ch- to surf anymore. I thought most people used the guide, and surf that way. I should have been more clear on what I was suggesting:o. I myself am a channel surfer, but I just bring up my "favorites guide" and do it that way. It's a quick "menu", "ok", "ok" sequence (as long as the heart is highlighted).

On the Tivo software, you can supposedly select the channels you want to see on the guide. Much like regular Tivo. Its one of my most anticipated features/ biggest gripes with Moto right now.

Now that the Comcast Tivo service is actually available, can any users chime in here as to whether you can customize the channel guide?
thx!

Yes you can, It works just about the same way on the Comcast Tivo box as it does on my Tivo Series 2. I cut down from some 400 channels to the 40 or so I might ever watch. They also give you a quick way to toggle between your list of channels and the entire list of channels.
