View Full Version : Freezing: 6.3e or HD?
Have 6.3e but have not had any freezing as of late (since the first 6.3e rollout) until this morning, unplugged & plugged back in lasts for about an hour or so and then it freezes and I get no response again. THe "Activity" light stays "ON".
Would hate to replace the HD if it is DTV again.
Clearing my Thumb ratings & Suggestions now but as I was in the sys information I noticed there was a service update on 11/25 @ 2:36am, the id is: 6.3e-01-2-101

On what machine? If you're running the HR10, the "101" part should be a "357." But otherwise, this is the current version of the OS for the HR10.
It is a Philips 704. The other one I have is a R10 and it seems fine.
Got an update on Sunday 5:30pm and again Monday at 3am it has been ok since those updates.
So how would you tell the difference between a hard drive issue and the software (6.3e) freezing issue? Do they both exhibit the same symptoms?
