serious critical crash - help!!!

hi
i've got a uk tivo with 2 drives and last week it crashed with the green screen of death. it never recovered from this.

got a new drive to rebuild a new system - have used the mfstools before and am confident user and fairly capable with linux.

went to backup the drives and they appear locked.
tried to unlock to no avail - reports them not being locked!
tried both tools.

basically i need a backup image to start again.

has anyone any idea where i can get one? or can i just build a brand new disk without needing to restore an old image?

hinsdale guide and steveconrads guilds don't seem to give the impression i can.

The images are specific to a Tivo model. Please post the manufacturer of your Tivo and the model.

I've gone and bought Hooch from Tivoheaven.
it seemed the easiest solution to pay for a tried and tested build which will sort all the confirguration issues.

thanks to anyone who was offering advice.
