its been working fine but just seems to have stopped, along with a couple of quirkie goings on starting :(
The log files stopped on the 14th Nov, so I've rebooted Tivo, & nowt.
I tried stopping irblast using the /var/hack/ir/irblast.tcl -stop it tells me its stopping and doesn't  so I deleted the logs in the hope they would be rebuilt and give me an idea of whats happening
I removed it from my startup scripts, rebooted, and tried to run it from a bash# and it tells me its still running, ps shows no process's so I cant see from where.
So if anyone has some pointers I'd be grateful.

How about defining your 'along with quirky goings on starting' as I'm reading that as you're having other boot problems which might need sorting first.

I'm not trying to insult your intelligence, so bear with me... :) I don't know the script in question, so I'm just in 'general question' mode until we deduce or someone jumps in.
When you removed it from your startup scripts; have you double checked? I've sometimes in a hurry forgotten to make the filesystem RW before editing rc.sysinit.author and not paid attention before rebooting!
Is it being run as a module in TiVoWeb (which will load it when it starts)?
The error message you see in TiVoWeb - is it about 'O' log files (i.e. 'Otvlog')? If so - ignore them. They're backup log files which appear after a daily call.
Cna you post where you got irblast from so that I can see what it's doing?

No worries,
It is run from sysinit.author, but via sandertons startup script rather than direct, it saves having to remember o set rw/ro
I got irblast from the forums, http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=167585&highlight=reddot I run the same version on all my Tivo's with no problems on my other 2
