I like how they kept using a sound effect for a pump-action shotgun when none of the hunting rifles were pump-action. :D

The murder plot just became more envolved

I'm more than a little annoyed at Leticia, Karen, and Lisa -- Leticia and Karen for being so selfish and manipulative, and Lisa for putting Nick in an impossible position (she doesn't want him to quit being the Darlings' lawyer but she doesn't want him to be around Karen, either).

I noticed that too. :D

I also LOVED the press conferance after Patrick was shot.

I though that it was an interesting explaination about Simon's Russian heritage. I know it was discussed here before, so I was happy to see it addressed.

Jeremy's impressing me with his desire not to use the family name to get the girl. Makes me wonder how they're gonna screw with his mind... either the girl is really playing him and knows, or she's going to be mad she was lied to and refuses to hear an explanation.

true, he is quite the ladies man, yet how long can he keep the secret ?

He would have impressed me more if he didn't use his 'pull' as a Darling to do stuff for her us mere mortals wouldn't be able to do (like get a table at a totally booked restaurant).

True. But I don't think that was his intention... he only intended to bribe, and anyone can do that. But the woman knew who he was, so he had to do it differently.

Car valets can bribe maitre d's $200? I guess it's possible. :)

No matter how you slice it, he's still lying to her. Women tend not to like that.

It's just a matter of saving money up and choosing to spend it in that manner. Whereas using influence as a Darling means needing to be a Darling and actually finding someone in a position to care, which isn't so easy to do for most people. :)

The hostess didn't know he was playing a car valet. And his date didn't see the $200 being passed, and Jeremy used the birthday ploy to allay any suspicions she might have.

Actually pretty creative of him -- although how would he know about birthday dinners? Birthday parties for him are held either at home or on the Brooklyn Bridge. ;) :D

I know it was discussed here before, so I was happy to see it addressed.Me too, although I would think that kind of backstory would be tough to stifle when you become a mega rich super star in post Soviet Russia. I guess I was close with the "White Nights" defection story line. ;)

On Brian's story line, how could the whole Gustav angle really be worse than abandoning your child for 2 mos? I get that as the man he is usually at a legal disadvantage, but come on Nick. He was involved in one way or another for the whole 7 years she lived in NYC and quite likely provided monetary support, so the fact that she was his mistress should not really matter, right?

I really enjoyed this episode.

Multiple absurd/surreal moments, and quite a bit of humor mixed in.

I was not a big fan of the Jeremy Darling character early on, but when he was talking to the Driver and started copying how he was holding the rag and rubbing the car I was cracking up.

I also always laugh when ever Simon Elder's Russian heritage comes up, because it was such a big issue for some people when it was first unveiled. :)

Quickly moving up my list of favorite shows...Almost near the top at this point.

My point is that while he might not be using his name to impress the girl, he's still using his other resources.

I certainly don't fault him for that; you do whatever it takes to close the deal (especially when the deal is Sophia Viagra :D) But he's not doing it "on his own".

I wonder what his favorite drink is? ;)

Just watched it today and also got a kick out of the pump shotgun sounds. I had to replay it when it first happened. :)

Rev. Darling sure can be a big jerk, but I loved the little twist at the end. Several places in this episode it is shown that almost anything can be bought with a couple (bundles) of $100 bills.

Pretty good episode, although it's unfortunate that the cut out the shot of Karen in her undies from the intro. :p

Really? I skipped over the intro this time, I didn't realize.

The thing about the intro that amuses me is the group shot of the Darlings that they use is the one from the photo shoot that Juilet refused to go to so they had a stand in. So the intro shows some random actress instead of the real Juilet. :)

hehe...nice, I never really paid close enough attention to that part.

Well, now that the undies scene is gone, you can actually watch the rest of the show. :p

What kind of car did Simon drive up in at Valhalla? It was really nice, but I've never seen that emblem before.

It was a Maybach.

It was a Maybach.
Car snobs say it's a redressed, even more overpriced version of the top-of-the-line Mercedes E-Class. A quick Google put the price of the Maybach 62 at $426,000.

I wish they'd get rid of Lisa's insecurities. The most annoying part of this show is to see her whine about Karen in every other episode.

Rev. Brian is hilarious.

It was better to see her in the Italy episode stand up to Karen and want to fight for her marriage. Now she has just returned to whiny.

I too think the woman is conning Jeremy -- she knows who he is and is gonna clean him out. But at the last moment she'll realize she loves him.

"No, I have never heard of Donald Trump. He lives in this city and is rich? Nope, never heard of him."

Well, had you heard of the Darlings before you saw the show? I didn't think so.
