I can believe it. I once dated a girl who was in thailand for several months with the army. I asked he what it was like there, and she said it was fun but she was always afraid of AIDS because 90% of people in Thailand have AIDS. I told her that number was wayyy off and she didn't believe me. I then sent her a map plotting the density of HIV across the planet. Nowhere outside of Africa was it more than 5%. She replied back that she doesn't know geography so she was unconvinced.

Personally I think her "stupidity" is an act to make herself look cute and naive. Hilton acts stupid to and in some ways she is but some of it is an act.
