Haven't I said before that I love Chi McBride? Great line tonite about missing the days when people just used guns.

Kristin Chenowith plunging the sink clear. No double entendre there at all :p :D

Kristin Chenoweth.
Mermaid costume.
In glorious high definition.

Yes, I have much to give thanks for this year. :D

Say what you will about this show, you have to admit that there just isn't any show like it on TV. Delightfully demented.

Kristen's Klevage is awe inspiring. ;)

I love how quirky this show is AND I love how they keep it fresh in EVERY episode. The previews for next week (which I usually try NOT to watch) looked GREAT!

When do the complaints of characters singing start? ;)

Wonderful episode. Loved how they brought Chuck's aunts out of their funk.

I loved Ellen Greene's singing. And I love that song. And in a Dr. Suess story, people tend to break into song at a moment's notice, so with the narration and the sets, the singing was appropo ... IMHO.
 :)

I guess Cat Stevens (now Yusef Islam) doesn't own the rights anymore, otherwise I'm sure the producers wouldn't have been able to clear it. :)

I'm confused after seeing this episode as far as how his ability works. They said he couldn't eat the pie because the fruit would rot if he touched it again, but wouldn't the fruit be already dead from being baked in the oven? That led me to think, what if he brought someone back to life and waited over 1 minute and then someone else killed that person, THEN he touched him again. Based on the pie analogy, they're implying the body would "die more" (decay further?). Also, since he brings the fruit back to life and lets it stay for over 1 minute, does that mean there is other fruit dying near by? :)

There was also the comment of the bear skin rug coming back to life (or enough to make it disturbing). If that's how it works, shouldn't there be a similar phenomenon everytime he touches wood or leather?

Not complaining, I love the show. Just curious...:)

It's fantasy, not sci-fi. You're overthinking it. :)

Argh! My stupid not-a-TiVo-but-records-HD DVR recorded the first 5 minutes, then decided it didn't want to record any more, for absolutely no reason, thankyouverymuch.

Hate it. Which I had the $$ to buy an HD TiVo + service plan. *sigh*

"Follow the Yellow thick hose?"

That *was* a good one.

Also liked the explanation of why Ned became the Pie Maker.

BTW, they invented the pie-cup centuries ago. It's called a tart. Surely they could work the word "tart" into describing Chuck or Olive in some way?

I don't know what it was about this episode but something just seemed really off to me. I've really like the series so far but this episode was my least favorite.

"Jews For Cheeses"

I couldn't stop laughing. This entire episode was just a kick in the head. It gets better & better.

The song at the end was icing on the pie. Beautiful. I hate singing in comedies. Will FF thru the Simpsons when they break out in song & dance. But this was ... different. It just fit.

I liked the song too and the way she sang it. But in general I find the Aunts the only annoying part of the show. I LOVE Chi--loose quote, "I hope it's methane because the skinny ones go first." :)

I am definitely a "Jew for Cheeses."

It was around min 45. When the aunt/sisters are looking thru the old fashioned stereoscope. The one who isn't Swoosie Kurtz looks at a pic of someone (herself, chuck?) from way back when, and she's wearing a JFC tee. Abso-*-lutely hilarious.

The old fashioned "monoscope" was great, too.

So the "dirty" smell guy was Paul Reubens?

I noticed his name in the opening credits but I don't think I'd have noticed otherwise, he looks a lot different.

Yes. I didn't notice his name in the credits, but recognized him right away.

In a previous episode it showed several plants dieing after he touched dead fruit.

Can't help you on the other stuff.

I don't think Ned would want to call his restaurant "The Tart Hole".

I think they can come up with something funny. They've managed to do pretty well so far, IMHO.

I'm guessing he didn't have much say in the matter, since the song was written decades before he was born...

(It was, ironically, a Christian hymn.)

I did not know that! [/JohnnyCarson]

Cat's was the only version I had ever heard; I assumed he had written it.

Any show that makes a reference to C.H.U.D. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087015/) gets an immediate A+ in my book.

Love the line (paraphrasing from memory):

"I didn't know what you liked, or if you liked, or if you had the parts to like with, or whether you were born with both but used neither."

And, of course: "Jews for Cheeses"

Seeing as how the song was written around 1880 and was already in the public domain when he recorded it, I doubt that was a problem. ;)

My wife and I had that song sung at our wedding as a celebration of the "morning" of our new life together.

Needless to say, I approved of its use in this show! :)

Whoa. Had DVR problems and ABC.com doesn't provide a player for Linux, so I used "another method" to obtain an AVI file (in HD). My wife and I watched it on a laptop on the couch in the living room. Is there always that much cleavage in this show?!?! I'm not complaining, in any way, but the situation was a little odd :)

A good episode; lots of great lines. In addition to what's been mentioned we laughed a lot at LeNez sniffing Emerson and especially Ned when he first met them... "sniiiiiiiiiiiiifffffffff" :D

There's always been quite a bit, but this episode has definitely set a new high-water mark. And all I have to say is: Excelsior. :D

With a cast like this show has, it's almost impossible to avoid a considerable amount of cleavage.

I think what set this episode apart was the amount of movement seen by the cleavage on display. That mermaid costume was certainly eye catching.

This is by far the best new show of the season. I hope the writers were able to get through an entire season before they went on strike.

Well, they currently have nine episodes. If by chance the strike ends within a couple of months, they could end up with a few more.
