Does IR work with the Dish 381? Any other cable?

Yes it does, the 381 is the same as an 811 and I had an S2 on an 811 for a year or so.

Just curious about how you got a 381? Are you in an apartment?

yes, your tivo IR will work with the 381. i used to have two tivos and two 381s.

if you ever decide to switch to a dual-tuner dish box, the IR won't work with the 2nd tuner, b/c it works on UHF.
