What is a great new tivo DVR/DVD recorder?

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a new solid well made, with strong features, DVR/DVD unit with tivo 2 capability?
1.Would like it to have the auto ad removal feature.
2.would like it to have a desent size hard drive with tivo to go, so you can back up to a computer.

I've seen the Tivo 2 dt dvr, just wondering if there is anything better,maybe in anther brand like Pioneer,Toshiba etc?

Toshiba nad Pioneer made DVD/R models of TiVo series 2 and HUMAX currently makes some.

none have auto ad removal or any editing for buring directly on the TiVo. For what you want it is either

1. some other DVR/DVD combo - none will have the season pass/wishlist of TiVo though and most likely no TTG either.

2. get a DT or TiVoHD (no built in DVD/R) but use TTG and software like video-Redo to do the auto ad removal and burning to DVD on the PC. That will be the most flexible approach and allow you to throw HD content into the mix with the right hardwware.
