Why does TiVo have 'three thumbs up'?

Who has three thumbs??? :confused:

By this logic, I guess we shouldn't have any thumbs up? The Tivo guy doesn't have hands much less thumbs, does he?

One thumb up or down per person. For example, the popular movie reviewers with two people, each giving one thumb up or down. Three thumbs up mean three recommendations.

I'm just glad TiVo didn't go the rating system of these two :

Addition? Person A gives two thumbs up + Person B gives one thumb up = 3 thumbs up.

Interesting addition. Last I checked most people have two thumbs, meaning two people would have four.
