A long time ago I remember that you could hook 2 Tivos up to DirecTV. For the life of me I cannot find instructions on how to do this now. Can this still be done?

It may be possible, but I can't see any reason why you would want to do this. You can't record two shows at once without two receivers and the extra storage can be achieved with a cheap hard drive upgrade.

Do you mean regular TIVO's or DirecTIVO's?

Does the FAQ (from the main page) help?

Why you ask would I want to do this? Currently with my basic cable, I have a splitter from the main source. One goes into one Tivo, the other into my other Tivo. This way I can record 2 shows at once.
I guess if I wanted to do this I would have to forego this luxury, or is there a work around?

You have two options.
Get a DirecTV TiVo.
Get two straight DirecTV receivers.
Either will require two satellite runs from the dish. You cannot typically split satellite signals like you can for cable.

JUst a note, with directivos there is one charge and with two receivers there would be 2 charges I think.
