Everything but a 2DT. (The 2DT can still record at least VHF, but it's not supported, so you may not be able to get proper guide data.)
I know you say you want a 1 or 2, but I really recommend you go with a 3 or HD, which can record ATSC (digital) as well as NTSC (analog). NTSC is going off the air in February 2009, only a little over a year from now.

yes, but I'd think that I'd spend the extra money and get the HD anyways.
Otherwise you're wasting two tuners since the S2DT can't record OTA.

Definately get the newer HD or S3, remember that even if you live in a place with few HD signals the machine can still upconvert and show the SD on a wide screen HDTV and look a lot better than on regular old set, and you will be getting one of those in the next year so why not be ready? Then when it comes 2009 you are also set. Be aware if you can't get HD well now OTA many stations lie and are using low power on the HD signal, but that will stop by 2009, also many will go use other channels then, some of which have much better range than now. By getting the HD Tivo you are so much better off, and in mean time it can work with your old set too.
