I unchecked the qam channels,(I had no idea what those channels was), while only on basic cable, no cards. Then the cards were installed... Shouldn't those cards have those channel listed, In the new line up?

If not, is it safe to redo guided setup without the cards in to revert back to basic, reenter those channels then redo guided setup with cards and still have those cards valid? I was going to do this then something told me I best be sure before I proceed, cause this is at my brothers house. ;)

Now in my house I have a TiVoHD I can play with...:D I only have basic cable, for now.

I did a channel scan( that wasn't what I thought it was...) :) and just realized what I did, at my brothers. I still can't receive the channels I deleted on my brothers TiVo. So those must be encrypted

Some of the qam channel #'s are the same has basic cable #'s. Will this cause issues with channel changes? Or, will deleting the analog # which matches the qam channel # keep the TiVo on the digital. I figure so cause, if I reenter 67 on my brother's TiVo it is staying on the analog, If I leave both 67s in my channel list it will tune the analog right away without staying on the grey screen. ((Edited here)) Wait , why does my TiVo go to analog? The Matching channel #'s are going to cause Issues, with a Cablecard installed, Right?

Once you redo the guided setup, you lose any channels you had without the cards. I believe with cable cards, you do not get a choice of channels. I tried to do a channel scan with the CC, but had no luck. Unless you have BOTH antenna and cable.

After you install CableCards, you need to run guided setup.

You only get the digital versions of a particular channel (such as CNN) if you have CableCards installed. If you want to tune QAM channels, you need to enter the subchannel or select it from your guide.

Keep in mind that depending on your configuration, Guided Setup may not be enough; if you are not seeing some expected channels, do a channel scan after Guided Setup.

With basic cable(my house) after a scan I see new xx-xx channels e.g 87-14 channels. Also I believe the xx channels e.g 81 are found also " Not sure cause these channels are also pulled from Basic Cable guided data, they was on my S2s for around 7 months unchecked, hence why I unchecked those before the card install. So with the guide data for the qam channels in the basic cable download I figure when it pulls info for card it pulls from basic cable at the same time, so with me having them already unchecked, it was a glich where it only showed the previous checked channels.

Channel scan is NOT an option if using cable cards.

If an analog channel's Diagnostics give a Modulation type QAM 256, is there any way to specify to attempt the analog feed? (Some of my analogs are not displaying correctly (black screen) on my S3 and have this modulation type - other working stations (in the analog region) have Modulation type analog. My S2 and direct feed into tv tune the 'missing' QAM channels fine (which would be the analog feed)).
