I was just watching a show on VH1 Classic from 3:00 to 4:00 eastern time, and I noticed something odd. I was fast forwarding at double speed when a split-second (one frame?) ad popped up for Geico. I rewound to see if I was imagining it. It wasn't there on regular speed, but at double speed again it was a Jenny Craig ad in a different spot. Again, and another insurance ad, or should I say frame? Anybody else notice this?

Unless you're running >8.3 and watching HD. :(

You're probably just seeing a single frame from an ad run nationally that was covered by an ad running locally.

Unless you're running >8.3 and watching HD. :(I've already adapted to it. I pretty much know it's 4 or 6 skips for commnercials. It's no big deal to me that the skip is a little less responsive. I'm used to it now. I'd take it this way, over not having it, in a heartbeat.

Nope, it was in the middle of the screen during the actual program and not during a commercial. I thought that at first, I backed up and checked.

I was actually watching the other tuner mostly and ffing through this show because it was a top 10 countdown show/video game infomercial (best drummer, lead singer, etc.) and I just wanted to see who they picked without watching all the babble and videos. I do that a lot, watch shows sped up and/or two tuners at a time. :o

I agree about the skip, use it all the time.

Nope. That's what really confused me. And I was sober at the time :). Now I gotta find it again to prove I ain't nuts, or go nuts trying.

Hmm. Today's Boston Globe.

As a result, a number of media-savvy parties are rolling out new technology and creative concepts. TiVo Inc., for instance, recently introduced a graphic overlay that can appear when a TiVo subscriber fast-forwards past an ad. A viewer might see the advertiser's logo, for example, even as the ad whooshes past. TiVo users can sometimes even choose to click and see more information, says Karen Bressner, TiVo's senior vice president of ad sales.

Y'all are right. As I played with it today I noticed I was past the commercial and the "more info" screen was just popping up after the commercial was over. Lag time apparently. At least I ain't nuts (about this.)
