My thoughts:
- Light of Doom: I'm still not a fan, don't think I will be. They definitely rocked out, but the vocals still are just on the level of some kids rocking in their garage, nothing national exposure level. And frankly, it's not the kind of rock I enjoy... it's too "cluttered" (too busy) of an style of rock for my taste.
- The Clark Brothers: excellent, one of the top 3 of the night easily. Vocals were amazing
- Dot Dot Dot: eh. Ok, I suppose... still better than where they started out, but it wasn't anything amazing for me.
- Cliff Wagner: Not good for me. It was just too much of a stretch away from the bluegrass that they do pretty well. Vocals were just OK, and the instrumentation was nothing to shout about.
- Denver: Another of the top 3 performances of the night. I think the lead singer is a "love him or hate him" type of thing. If you have decided you hate him, you probably hated this performance, but I think he actually showed he wasn't the stiff geeky sort of guy with his performance tonight... and the horns were hot tonight.
- Sixwire: Excellent. Loved the arrangement of the song, tight vocals, brilliant all around. Loved it.
- Tres Bien: trying way too hard, and failing. Not great.
I would have trouble picking my favorite between Clark Brothers, Denver, and Sixwire... they were all miles better than the others tonight.

I loved Light of Doom...but I could say that every week.
Clark Brothers - The singer is really carrying the band. For me, the whole fast acoustic thing sounds sloppy and gets too muddled together. They could really use some drums to break it up.
Dot Dot Dot - As much as I'd like to hate the emo, glam band...they're actually playing quite well lately.
Cliff Wagner - Really far too much twang for me.
Denver - I'm not into their style, and I thought tonight's performance was too much of a clusterdryhump.
Sixwire - I've had enough of the cotton candy sugar rock. These guys just make me think of Winger. The singer spend all of his time smiling into the camera and flipping his hair. In the words of Will Sasso...keep posin', posin', posin' posin.
Tres Bien - While I would have liked to have seen Franlink Bridge continue on, I do like the energy that these guys bring to their performance.

The swing band was much worse this week.. (largely because they weren't doing swing).. I think they're VERY entertaining usually..

I think all the bands have started to wear on me. What seemed pretty good on week 1 is looking tired now, though having them perform these kind of songs doesn't help. I wish these shows would let people choose what they want to play.
Tres Bien is still my fav, not the best but my fav.
Denver can't win, they tell him to get more modern and feature the band, now they say too modern and too much band :)
Sixwire are sugary, perfect word
Dot Dot Dot, nice to look at the girls but I can't stand watching the singer
Cliff, I quite like them but they do need an edge.
Clark Bros, not my cup of tea but I can see the talent.
I was glad to see Franklin B. go, the singer just put me off completely, though the other guys seemed fine.
I just pretend L.O.D. are not on the show.
Next week it's Jagger and Richards songs

Light of Doom: Better, but I still can't get with them.
Clark Brothers: Loved it! I didn't miss the drumming.
Dot Dot Dot: Much better, but again, I still can't think they should win.
Cliff & the Old # 7: It was okay, but I think it was one of the weaker of their performances.
Denver and the Mile High Orchestra: Boring. I've lost the will to vote for them in the past two weeks.
Sixwire: They reminded me of the Bee Gees this week . I'm sad they moved farther away from their country roots. It was a good performance and nice arrangement (for someone else), but they didn't have the same drive as they have before. I was a little disappointed.
Trés Bien!: It was pretty good. They are a group that is getting better every week.
Overall, I'd still like to see the Clark Brothers or Sixwire win.
I'm glad to see Franklin Bridge is gone. I was never a fan.
I'm looking forward to next week. :)

At this point, the only band that I'd care to follow after this series is Dot Dot Dot. The Clark Brothers are just horrible to my ears. And sugary is a good description of Six Wire. Bleh.

Also, I'm hoping that the show features the bands' own, original songs soon.
I'm relatively certain that The Next Great American Band is not, in fact, a cover band.

Tres Bien's best performance to date.
Light of Doom is getting better, but won't win.
Dot Dot Dot was weak vocally.
I didn't really pay attention to Denver, so it must of been boring. Same for Sixwire.
Old No. 7 is great at what they do, but they won't win.
I still like the Clark Bothers and they are the most likely for me to go see perform. Not sure if they will win though.
No more covers. A great band writes is own songs, so let's here the originals now.

+10000.....I was really hopeful that this would be a show about *real* bands but they've reduced it to this bubble gum poppy crap. Gotta love all the costumes.
Light of Doom is the only band that takes these songs, songs they've probably never heard, and don't just put together a cheesy wedding band cover. They make the song their own. They are the only band that does this and they do it every time. The are heads and shoulders above the other "bands".
Tres Bien! let me down this week. They still are my favorite to win it even tough LoD should win hands down.
THANK GOD for no more Franklin Bridge. What a joke of a band!

FRANKLIN BRIDGE:
Wow. How shocked was poor old Franklin Bridge? I didn't see them leaving so soon, and apparently neither did the lead singer. I think this week Dicko could say it was "death by too much sexy". They seemed so sure of themselves to win, apparently people didn't feel the need to call in and vote for them.
SIXWIRE:
The last two minutes of their song was absolutely rocking the house! The first half? Not so much. That lead guitar riff was CLEAN. They boy can PLAY! Sixwire needs to unleash that lead guitar player and start ROCKING THE HOUSE! Like they did with their single "Good to Be Back". Sixwire's original songs are still LEAGUES above anyone elses in my opinion, and if they are truly looking for someone who can sell records then Sixwire should win.
DOT DOT DOT:
Best performance to date. They'd be a great cover band, but their originals aren't going to win them any prizes. The lead guitar player needs to back off the fuzz on her guitar. But otherwise I was more impressed with her this week than prior weeks.
LIGHT OF DOOM:
Wow again. Only this time for shockingly GOOD. These kids are growing on me. I am beginning to look forward to seeing what they come up with every week. The arrangements on the guitar are so fresh. Probably because they are starting off without any preconceived notions of what the songs "should" sound like and just doing their thing. I still don't think they could sell many records, but I see lots of decent paying gigs in their futures. How fun would it be to see these guys at an "Oz Fest" or something along those lines? What a blast for the kids! I see a big future for them on the concert circuit ala Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

Light of Doom surprised me. I'd have to agree that they ROCKED this time around. But I still don't think they should win.

I kind of like all of the bands that are left - except Dot Dot Dot. They rub me the wrong way. Something gives me the feeling they're 'phoning in their performances.'
Anyway, I have a gut feeling that the orchestra group might perform 'Miss You' by The Stones, and if this perception is true, I think they could pull it off. The horns would make a nice added element to the song. I cant wait to see what Light of Doom does.

Is the upcoming week Stones week?
Greeeeeat.
If so, I'd like to see Light of Doom do "Paint It Black". It lends itself well do being sped up, and the lyrics fit well for a metal song.
Whoever busts out the Mick dance should be kicked off...immediately.
