Hello Everyone, Just signed up today and was looking to see if I could find some help near my home to help me better utilize my tivo.
I have been using a Sony series 1 tivo w/ Lifetime purchased off ebay for a few years and really love it, It came with the wireless card already hacked and I upgraded the hard drive. So other then being able to view or record two shows at a time it still satisfies my needs.
I was recently planning on purchasing a second unit off Craigslist so I can give the older one to my children since it has more of their programs on it anyway.
After seeing the price increase for multiple units has gone from 6.95 to 9.95 I decided to stick with what I have.
So I am merely wanting to learn what else I can do with my unit since it is connected to my wireless network at home. This being the main reason I thought of getting a newer series 2.
I would love to extract or add material to unit. possibly home videos that I could extract and share online, I see there was once something called tivoweb that I would love to find out about.
Anyway I am usually the most tech savvy person in the circles of people I socialize with, but once I see some of the stuff required to add "code" to the tivo itself I acknowledge its way out of my league.
Thats why I would love to pay someone nearby to do some of it for me, or teach me what to do.
