I would love be able to hook my two of my three directv Tivo together to watch stuff on either tv. They is hole between the rooms so i could do by cable or wireless would be fine. But I am having a hard time finding out how to do this. I been to bestbuy and a few other place but no one seems to be able to help me. Or online I just get people telling me to it which I do not want to do. I willing to pay something that will put these together.

I can't use the USB ports because they are not working. It is turn off by directv.

Any ideas what I can do?

Thanks in advance for any help?

I don't know of anyone who will do this for you. Probably concerns about legal issues, etc. If you want to do it, be prepared to do a lot of reading. If you want to 'unlock' the USB ports, then you'll have to pull the hard drives from the DTivo units, connect them to a PC... google 'hinsdale howto' for a pretty decent write up of the process of setting up the drives, then go to this link on this same site for the zipper instructions:

Sounds like a modulator (I have a Channel Plus 3025 (http://www.amazon.com/Channel-Plus-Multiroom-Distribution-Modulator/dp/B00006JPED/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1195073513&sr=8-1)) would do what you want.

I second the suggestion for the Channel Plus 3025. Connect both TiVos to the 3025 and then wire it up to 5 TVs to the 3025. Each TiVo will have its own channel number. Tune the TV to which ever TiVo you want to watch.

I do not want to unlock the USB or watch anything on a computer. I only to watch a tivo unit on more than one tv. I thought maybe I could run a cord between the two tvs.

Thanks

Thank you, that is exactly the kind of box I am looking for.

I going to do some research on it. I am trying to see how to hook them up with no usb port, but assume there is away place.

thank you

I'm sharing 3 DVRs between two TV's without using a channel modulator like the 3025. All three DVRs are in a rack in the theater room. The GXCEBOT (SD DirecTvio) is connected to the theater room TV (a Panasonic projecter) via S-video. The GXCEBOT's composit video output and audio are run inside the wall, through the attic and inside the wall in the living room. The HR10 (HD DirecTivo) is connected to the projector via HDMI. The component video and analog audio are run along the same path to the living room. Finally the HR20 (new DirecTV DVR) is connected the same way as the HR10.

To make things a little more interesting, I have a 7.1 surround sound system in the theater and a 5.1 surround sound system in the living room. All 3 DVRs are connected to it as well as three DVD players.

A Harmony 880 in each room controls the equipment. IR information is passed back to the theater room via an IR target and wired IR emitters.

So, I guess you just have to change the input channel on your projector to use whatever DTV Tivo you like?

For your surround, I guess you're using optical audio cable right from the TIVO boxes to your surround system?

Sounds like a great set up?

BTW, how long will you keep the 10-250?

are the 2 tivos stacked? I have a good setup with 2 tivos being able to be watched on either a remote tv or else burning to my dvd player.

before i go into the setup i just wanna make sure your tivos are in the same room.
