my girlfriend and i have the same exact tivo server. hers however has folders under the now playing list? We both have the model sd-h400 and are only using a tivo basic subscription. is there some way for me to get folders on my tivo?
i shoud add, i tried the ENT key and the #2, but my guess is because it's tivo basic i dont get those choices. i used to have folders back in the past just as she does now, but now everything is just chronological.
also as a side question, is the sd-h400 model abel to be hacked? if so, what types of software is available?

The only way I know to get folders working is to turn them on during the 30-day free trial of TiVo-Plus service. I got a Toshiba unit and signed up for the free trial. I turned on folder then, and the folder capability continued after the trial was over and the unit reverted to basic. If you already used the free trial, then you may be out of luck.
Though I had alphabetical listings on during the trial, the Toshiba only lists in chronological order now.

Yup, according to this (http://tivosupport2.instancy.com/LaunchContent.aspx?CID=EFB60828-EE03-4971-958B-E8EA9FDFC592), folders are part of the TiVo Plus service.

man thats weird. i had tivoPlus trial and the folders were there. I guess maybe if i deleted all the shows that is when they could have disappeared and never returned. Just weird how my girlfriend's still shows folders. Are there any software changes i can make to turn on folders? I have been reading a bit and found out about the LBA DVRupdate disc. I thought about trying that, however i thought i read before that the sd-h400 doesn't offer some of the same tricks? It also sounds like when ever there is a software update i have to redo everything, is that correct?
One more side note i had to restore my hard drive as i got the clicking drive of death on this model, so i use an image to restore the software to the drive. If i begin trying to add "software" to my drive, do i really need to back it up since i can just reload the image from disc i already have?
