I love the show Corner Gas (WGN - but produced by CTV Canada) - It's brilliant and quirky (in an understated way).
My problem is that for the past two weeks all of the show descriptions have been the same. Someone is just too lazy to enter the actual show description.
It bothers me that we are paying for this information and not getting it. I would like to know that someone at Tivo is calling whoever is responsible (Zap2It?) and telling them to "get on the stick!"

Actually, you need to complain to the content supplier (CTV Canada) for not supplying accurate descriptions to Tribune Media Services.

Sorry to hear about the issue. Unfortunately we don't watch every show or monitor every description; and in some cases even if we bring the problem to the attention of the source, they don't fix the descriptions.
The fastest way to get a situation like this resolved is to use the Lineup Issue Reporting Tool:

Sorry for the problem.
Best regards,

USA is also bad about not providing descriptions. I have had to manually cancel the Dead Zone and the 4400 for the same reason. :(

Well - geesh - now that I complained I see that they started sending the correct information beginning the day before!

I discovered Corner Gas because a promo on WGN looked interesting. Turns out it a fabulous show! I turned some friends on to it - they love it too. One of my friends then turned me on to SuperNova on PBS.
My point is that there appear to be several really good shows out there that just don't hit the radar!
So Check out
Corner Gas
produced in Canada by CTV this is about a tiny town in Saskatchewan where there isn't much more than a gas station, a diner, and a bar. Starring Brent Butt (his real name), Gabriela Miller (hot!) and an ensemble cast of very funny people. http://www.cornergas.com/
SuperNova
Produced in Australia this is about a group of scientists posted at a rather remote observatory in the outback of Australia. Rather low key - but truely quirky and funny. The funniest character is the smartest scientist who's completely insane.

What other shows are out there?

There is more than that, but most of the action takes place in or around the gas station/store/diner. Exterior shots are taped in and around Rouleau SK (where the Gas Station/Diner exteriors are built), and locations around the town are also used. Interior shots are done on a sound stage in Regina SK.

Yep and it can't even spot new episodes of Law & Order, CI. I've had to do a "record this also". USA is horrible delivering proper info.

There is one much worse-- MTV-- they are so bad almost everything records as first run, and often it is rerun, and also often it is not even the right show either AND it won't start on time! I actually think that entire staff are actually on drugs full time, at work. Really....it has to be deliberate, goes on year after year.

Well, what I find funny is that if I remember correctly, USA, SCIFI and NBC are owned by the same parent company. SciFi and NBC seem to do ok with their program guides, sure now and then there may be some errors but not very often. USA however just can't keep the description up and you would think that it would be easy for re-runs since the description is already there unless they erase the descriptions after they are done with the show. Of course I know the parent company doesn't handle the inner workings of the tv studios but maybe they should get SciFi and NBC to share their guy with USA to get the descriptions right.:D

In destek's defense, there was a period of about a week where none of the "Corner Gas" episodes had a description on my DirecTiVo -- before that, a fair portion of the episodes were listed with the wrong description (i.e., the description that showed up wasn't the episode that actually aired). But WGN seems to have now gotten their act together.
I've got about 25 episodes saved up on my DirecTiVo, because they're showing 'em faster than I can watch 'em -- it's my defense against the writers' strike. :D

Yeah I've noticed that, too. VH1 is almost as bad, but MTV is definitely the worst. I had it set up to record "Pimp My Ride" first run only, and on more than one occasion they would run a marathon of repeats on a Sunday that were all listed as new and it would fill up my drive. It's just not that interesting of a show to risk losing other recordings over. This has also happened with Discovery (Dirty Jobs specifically). Actually, on Saturday I was trying to check out that new show "Storm Chasers" and all I got were Dirty Jobs repeats. Lame.

For anyone that hasn't noticed it, the OP on this post (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showpost.php?p=5682671&postcount=1) has developed a pretty good work-around for shows that have no (or the same) description.
And thanks for the tip on Corner Gas. I haven't seen it yet, but it sounds like a good bet.
I wasn't able to set a recording for SuperNova though. It's not listed on the local schedule right now. :( Guess I'll have to set up a WL for it.
Thanks again! :)
