When the power came back on Tivo has 2 red dots on the left, the Tivo logo in the center, and a blue, and orange light on the right.
It seems to stay that way for maybe 5-15 minutes, and then the lights go off, and back on again. It seems to endlessly repeat this cycle. Sometimes I notice the Tivo logo flashes. The power has gone out before without this situation arising.
I've read elsewhere that removing the CableCARDS and restarting can be a solution, but removing the CableCARDS doesn't elicit any different activity from the Tivo.
Yesterday immediately after the power outage, the TV screen said, 'Not supported mode'. Today it reads, 'No signal'.
Does anyone has a suggested method for restoring the Tivo, or something? Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

I just removed the HDMI cable from the TV side, and I think coincidentally the Tivo restarted just then.
Now the TV is reporting 'Not supported mode'.

I just removed the HDMI cable, and plugged in an A/V.
Now TV is reporting 'No Signal'.
Tivo looks to be doing the same thing with it's lights on, eventually off, and over again....

I know it's not a problem with the TV, in that the Wii works just fine on the same A/V input.

Do you think picking the Tivo up and shaking it vigorously will do any good?

Dangit, this must be really bad...it's not like the power outage could've "fried" something in an electrical surge, as I have it on a new APC filter.

Picking up the Tivo and shaking it vigorously had no positive affect.
Neither did the gentle back massage, and soothing whispers of riches & luxury if it promised to get back to work...

Have you tried leaving it unplugged for 15-20 minutes?

Yes, I left it unplugged all night even.
Tivo is on strike...and Tivo HD customer service must be extremely busy, as I've been on hold for 16 minutes so far.

Make that 25 minutes...
I pressed 1 for Technical Support, then 2 for HD service. The rep then said he wasn't able to help me and would pass me to HD service, then the next guy said he wasn't HD service and would pass me, then after 25 min of the rockin on-hold music, the automated survey asked me how it went, then said goodbye...

The APC thing you have it hooked up to is not a UPS though, right? The drive might have been damaged by the outage. Was it an extended outage, or a flicker (quick off/on)?

It's not a battery backup, it's a power surge/line filter. I manually turned the power off at the powerbox, for about a minute.

Geez, this is my third call to Tivo customer support.
The first two resulted in "on-hold" disconnections...

Sounds like you fried your hard drive. Surge protectors aren't enough; brownouts are damaging to drives too.

Yeah, I think the hard-drive is dead.
I finally got through on the 3rd call to HD support. They're currently recommending a $50 replacement. That's too bad, I had a show I was just getting ready to burn to DVD. Dag-nabbit!
