Set-up: WinXP SP2, Tivo HD, Tivo Desktop 2.5.1 Plus and modified tivotrans.dll file.

I've been having a laundry list of issues that I can't seem to resolve when transferring shows from the Tivo HD to my desktop. I am converting for iPod and have modified the tivotrans.dll file with a higher bitrate and am using a height of 360. I deleted the width variable to force the encodes to maintain the correct aspect ratio (640x360 for high def and 480x360 for standard def).

1. I am getting 2 types of errors when I try to transfer a full-length program. The general "an error has occurred" and an "out of space" error. I have over 200 gigs available on the disk (where the destination folders & cache are located). I used to have dekstop 2.3a that I used with my Series 2 and never ran into either of these erros.

2. When a show does successfully transfer, it takes on average about 8 hours for a 1 hour show. Granted, the desktop has a wireless B card, but still... I've only had 1 full show transfer successfully so far.

3. On very short tests (less than 2 minutes) and on the full length show the successfully transfered, the audio on the mp4 is out of sync. This is consistent for both 720p, 480i and 1080i content. The sync is fine on the original file on the Tivo.

I've seen people bring up similar issues about the errors, but couldn't find any resolution. Any insight or ideas would be very appreciated.

FAT32!! That's why I was receiving out of space errors. I had never had a large enough transfer on the series 2 to break the 4 gig limit. So if anyone was having the same problem with their transfers crapping out at 4.1-4.2 gigs, that's probably it.

I would still love to see if anyone is having the same issue with iPod transfers never being in sync...

I share your pain, but I just tried it for the first time with ipod conversion and the audio was all out of whack. I'll try another and see if it does it again.
