Need help Playing AAC from a Mac on my Tivo

I'm hoping that you guys can help me. I've configured lame on my Intel Mac to transcode the AAC files to my TiVo. The only problem is that it sounds like Alvin and the Chimpmonks are doing the singing. Is there any known problem with this, or more importantly a fix?

I know this is not a direct answer to your question, but I recently converted all of my AAC files (protected and unprotected) to mp3 using a program called noteburner. It runs on a PC, and it works wonderfully well. The sound quality was not affected at all, to my ears at least. Now my music collection has no device limitations.

I won't bore you with the details of how it works, but it is completely legal. Just google noteburner if you have an interest.
