I am very confused as to how the transfer and viewing procedure works.
I thought all I needed was to get the Tivo desktop (free version) and download the shows to my PC. Then author a DVD and bam I'm done.
Apparently I'm missing something!
Here's what I did:
Installed Tivo Desktop and selected content from my Tivo and initiated download to my Windows XP box. That part worked like a champ!
So now I've got several .tivo files on my machine that I thought I would be able to view using WMP. When I tried to view them in WMP all I got was a black screen.
So I figured it was just because they were huge files and I really didn't want to view them on my pc anyway I really wanted to make a DVD so,
I used MyDVD and imported the .tivo file and created my DVD project.
I preview my DVD (using MyDVD preview) and it works great! Then I attempt to burn the DVD and it just sits thaere and does nothing. I let it run over night and still nothing.
I suspect it has something to do with not being able to play the .tivo file in WMP.
I have read other posts that say I need an MPEG-2 codec or I need a program called VideoReDo Plus.
I assumed Roxio 9 (MyDVD) would have come with an MPEG-2 codec. Is that right?
Anyway, any help would be appreciated!
Cheers
