Current setup
Tivo S3, Tivo S2, PC with TD 2.5.1
Transfers to and from all machines work as expected, including TTCB and MRV.
I have downloaded the trial version of VideoReDo, as well as Videora Tivo Converter.
What I would like to do is be able to take 16:9 video, and convert them down to something the S2 can play, in proper aspect ratio, on a standard tube TV.
For instance, using VideoRedo to strip commercials, and Videora to convert down to 4:3, 480x480, 2Kbps, etc, I can get video to display on the S2 and the normal TV (the highest I have been able to play on the S2 with a normal TV is 544x480). But, the video comes out squished. The content appears tall/skinny.
I am looking for the proper software or settings that will allow 16:9 content to be recoded as 4:3 with the bars on the top and bottom (letterbox), rather than just squishing the sides in.
