I innocently tried to upgrade Tivo Desktop last night, and the installer told me I had to uninstall my old version of Tivo Desktop. So, I went along with it like the proverbial lemur.
Mistake! I'm running Windows 2000 Workstation and only after the 2.5.1 installer made me get rid of my old version did it tell me that 2.5.1 isn't compatible with my OS. Nice job there, Tivo. If you're going to discontinue support of an OS, the least you could do is have the decency to tell us before you make us uninstall the version that actually works.
So, now I'm hosed because I don't know what version to backtrack to. And, of course, I can't find any information on the Tivo site. Anyone got any advice on what version to downgrade to and where I can get an old installer?
