TIVO desktop cannot seem to find my two S3's on my home wireless network, but I can find my PC and look at photos, etc. on the S3. Any hints and to what might be wrong? Under Tivo desktop / server / tivo server properties / access control : I always get "please wait, searching for dvrs".

I have the same problem with my tivoHD. Neither tivo desktop nor Galleon can see my tivo...yet i can serve it (tivo) music, photos, and do tivotogo (and comeback).

It sounds like the PC’s firewall is blocking the ports needed by TiVo desktop. TiVo desktop opened the ports needed when I installed it to my PC running windows XP. Check your firewall setting on your PC.

Try to go to https://{address of tivo}
I have a feeling you won't be able to access it.
Make sure they are both enabled for streaming on tivo.com, and get your media access code while you are at it (your password for https access).
edit: If you want to eliminate the firewall just turn it off and try it, should be easier than trying to open the necessary ports just to find out that it is another issue.

Thanks for the tip. I turned off Windows defender, and the Tivos (I have two s3's) both showed up on the list.
