Watching During Download

Is there any way to download a video using https://tivo-ip and watch the video as it downloads?
Does Tivo Desktop work if your Tivo is not on your local network?

It sounds line you will be away from your TiVo, in which case I strongly recommend you get a Slingbox.

Yes you can watch while downloading, but your connection from the TiVo needs to be faster than the bitrate the video is recorded at, which is almost always slower than typical home broadband connections, but fast enough inside your home network.

It takes some doing to access the TiVo from outside, plus is against your Terms Of Service.

Given the above facts, it still stands, it seems a Slingbox is what you want.
