I fail at TTCB...

Okay, I want to preface this by saying that I have already dug back a ways in these forums, and couldn't find the answer to my question. However, if I missed something blatantly obvious, I apologize.

I'm using a Series 3 box, and just purchased a Desktop Plus key. I have no problem transferring video from my TiVo to my PC, but I'm having no luck whatsoever with transfers in the opposite direction. My main problem is this: no matter what I have in my My TiVo Recordings (actual video files, shortcuts, any format), I can't find my computer in the Now Playing List. Anybody else have this problem? More importantly, has anybody resolved this problem?

This is actually a fairly common problem, so I am surprised you didn't find the answers right away.

First check your wireless router and turn off the broadcast filter. It probably doesn't have one or is already off, since things work in the other direction, but check anyway.

Second, make sure the computer's TiVo Beacon is running. If it is not, it will not send the Beacon signals the TiVo needs to "discover" the computer. Make sure that TiVo Beacon is trusted by your firewalls, all of them, including the ones you may not even know about yet. Many VPN programs include firewalls that remain active even when not connected.

Third, and less common, verify that the TiVo and computer are on the same subnet of your home network. In general this means that their IP addresses match except in the very last number group. Again, TTG wouldn't work either if this were the problem, so it probably is fine for you.

I had to manually enter my PC's ip address on the tivo before it would show up in the now playing list. Photos and music worked fine as did TTG. Just not TTCB. All works fine now.
