If one does the 'manual transfer' on series 1s (which involves using ftp to copy the files, I believe), are the resulting files exactly the same as the ones you would download from series 2s and series3/tivohd with the normal TivoToGo software?
In other words, if I bother trying this hacking on my Series 1s (mostly to easily copy a ton of old musical performances rather than one by one recording to my other hard drive/dvd recorder) to enable this, will the files be usable with the same utilities I can play the Series 3/tivoHD files with?
I realize they are different bit rates/resolutions, but I hope the questions make sense.
