I have been trying to use the TTG feature for a week now with no success. Everytime I try and transfer a show to my pc, it goes for about 20 minutes and stops. Ive tried HD and SD shows, and the same thing. It doesnt stop at a particular size, meaning, I dont think that it is a limitation setting for the size of a download on my pc. It gennerally stops about 15-20 minutes into a program. I get no error message or anything..... it just stops like its complete. The video that does get transferred looks great (SD and HD) and plays fine, its just not downloading the complete program. I make sure that i tune the tivo to 2 channels i dont get so that the buffer isnt running.

I have my series3 connected to the network with a cable (not wireless). My PC has an IntelCore 2 Duo Processor E6750, and 4gbs of RAM and a 500gb seagate HD running Vista. I set up the tivo desktop so that the performance level is at high.

Does anyone have any ideas why it may be doing this? Any setting I am missing? As always, any information would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Try turning off your virus scanning/firewall software before the transfer. If that makes you uneasy, you can disconnect from the internet before you do it.

This solved the problem for me, YMMV.

Does your PC go into hibernate mode or stand by mode after 15 minutes? Check your screen saver and power management settings. You may need to change the settings on your PC’s network card to keep your PC active during network activity. Or else increase the length of time before your PC goes into hibernation mode.

I tried turning off my firewall and I made sure that i turned off screensavers and all hibernaton modes. I havent install any other security software on the PC (its a couple of weeks old) only has what vista came with

I had this same problem. I updated to the newest version of TiVo desktop, and that seemed to solve the problem.

mine does as your is doing, then claims there is not enough disc space to complete the transfer

Mine works on Vista Ultimate with my Firewall and Virus program running. I did have to change my hibernation setting since it will go into hibernation and only download part of a show.
