OK... I'm not sure if this is in the right place, but here goes anyway.
I have 2 Hughes DVR's... I LOVE them... they are both "hacked", even though the biggest thing I use is not a hacked thing... it's the 30 second skip....
So 2 weeks ago I moved from Austin to San Antonio... everything is going great... and then yesterday I did some unpacking..... suddenly neither unit would respond to the remote control... I had a backup remote... so I got it out... and it did the same thing... It would respond occassionally, but not every time.... I replaced the batteries in both... (and actually ordered another unit on E-Bay before they are all gone)
After none of that worked, I "remembered" a couple of years ago I had a company laptop... and if it was "open" the TiVo remote didn't work... So I moved 1 unit into my bedroom and hooked it up... and it worked fine... So I started moving stuff away from the units in the living room... and problem fixed...
Does anyone know "why"? I am not sure what interferes with the TiVo remote... but something definitely does... Nothing I removed that made it work was electronic... mostly just boxes of papers, fliers, etc....
Just wanted to "stump" the crowd....
Hope all is well
