SD DVR 40 HD to R10

I've got a dvr 40 with a new 250gb drive. Sparks flew fron power cord connection.
Can I simply move the 250gb drive to the R10 or do I have to re image it? It has 6.3e on it.

With 6.3e it should work. But you will have to do a clear and delete everything before you can make a recording. That was one of the benefits of 6.3e which was cross-platform compatibility. :)

Not to to an R10. It needs imaged to its own system, for it is a different platform altogether.

I believe one of the purposes of the 6.3e platform was to merge the R10 with the series 2 and the High Def mpeg2. I could be wrong (Lord knows it would not be the first time) :p Maybe its that attempt that is causing all the problems? :confused:

The majority of the code base is the same. The kernel is different however. An S2 kernel won't boot on a S2.5 and vice versa, since they were compiled for different hardware.
