Have an HR10-250 with two 250GB drives.
I am upgrading to two 500GB drives
I assume I need to increase the swap space.
Which is better....
1. do a "dd_rescue" of each disk, then run mfsadd
2. do an mfsbackup piping it to mfsrestore
If I use mfsbackup|mfsrestore, what is the correct syntax to use to expand the swap space (to 500MB?).
I found a site last week that was referenced here but can't seem to find it now...the site had drop downs to pick model, current drive sizes, new drive sizes, and gave the mfsbackup|mfsrestore command.

Update:
I found the website:
http://www.mfslive.org/cgen.php
I downloaded their boot cd (I had ptv's boot cd) and will try using the command:
backup -qTao - /dev/hda /dev/hdb | restore -s 500 -xzpi - /dev/hdc /dev/hdd
(I have my cd-rom as hde)
I am assuming that this a better option than dd_rescue and mfsadd since it will make the swap and expand it all in one shot.
I'll update this thread with my results.

You'll need to use mfslive to do it since you've expanded the image already. I believe you're referring to their command line generator. It's located here (http://mfslive.org/cgen.php). Or, you could use WinMFS (http://www.mfslive.org/winmfs/), which may be easier.
edit - that was fast...you seem to be on the right track.

Go to www.MFSlive.org download MFSlive-1.3b.iso and then at the same site use ICG(Integrated command generator) to create the command. Boot from the CD and type the command. Remember wherever you see /dev/hd<letter> to put a space in front. such as <space>/dev/hdc. Leaving off the space is a common mistake which I made myself. Any technical questions send a private message to spike2k5 in this forum. good luck. :)
