I'm having an issue when I download a torrent recently. It'd been working fine, but now something weird is going on.

Things download fine, but then when I go to access the file, it causes some kind of error with Windows. This happens when I try to access them with any program.

Unfortunately this has happened with a number of torrents I've downloaded recently. Help!

If the file looks like it's the right size, try a different viewer like VLC. I find WMP to be pretty buggy.

I've been seeing mention on other sites of providers, Comcast for one, I think, blocking some peer-to-peer traffic.

If you're getting the file I'm assuming that's not your issue, but it may be affecting others who see the title of this thread.

You're not alone in this, I've been having the same problem. VLC solved the issue for me - plays everything fine.

If you download VLC and Media Player Classic, you can play 99.99% of all torrents! I use Media Player Classic for almost everything. But every once in a while I have a file that gives me trouble and VLC does the trick.

The latest thing I have been doing is downloading to a USB jump drive and then just playing them through the USB on my DVD player. So much better than my tiny laptop screen! You can buy a PhillipsUSB DVD player for less than $60, so worth it in my opinion.

Not to derail the thread too much more, but look into pyTiVo if you have a Series 2 or 3/THD model. Then you can watch the downloaded file directly on your TiVo.

What is VLC? Will I still be able to send files to my Zune?

VLC is Video Lan Client. A WMP competitor with a horrible name. Google it and you'll find it. It's much more tolerant of different file types than WMP.

I don't think the player has anything to do with Zune aside from moving files to and from it. If the files are bad playing them on zune won't be the issue one way or another, but I get lots of AVI files that VLC will play but WMP will not.

Ugh. This is frustrating.

Did you try VLC? What is frustrating now?

I haven't yet, but I thought I had the problem contained. Then I didn't.

I'll try that next, even though I'm not sure it'll address the PC to Zune issue I'm most concerned about.

Yeah, that didn't fix my issues. I'm not sure what to do now.

Here's a good question. Anyone got a functioning torrent for the show "Next Equestrian Star" or something like that. I don't get the channel and my sister loves horses.

Sorry, without more info, I have no more ideas.

What exactly is the "zune" problem?
