As outrageously ridiculous as this story was, it still was more realistic than anything shown on CSI: Miami.

Amazing, that's two weeks in a row.

I wonder if this is the new character of the show or if it's an aberration or if it's just a writing team being more creative than usual. Discounting all the stupid-tech, it was very entertaining.

And, at least from the previews, it appears it might be three weeks in a row next week. Not to mention that this episode didn't end in the killer being caught so we'll probably see her again at some point.

The killer won't be caught until the February 6th follow up episode, they are going to carry on the episode only in Second Life until then.

So did they portray Second Life accurately? The fact that the NYPD's crime lab has a 200-inch video monitor indicates that the writers don't have a grasp on fiscal reality. :p

Kind of accurately, yes. It was very dressed up for television.

If someone dropped something in SL, unless the permissions are set correctly, a random person couldn't pick it up.

Venus known all over SL? Uhh, I doubt it. The most well known Avatar in there right now is a real estate mogul named Anshe Chung.

A bunch of MM online games have been portrayed on tv recently.

Second Life on CSI
WoW on HIMYM and a car commercial and South Park and something else too I think

OK maybe not a bunch but WoW is all over the place. ONly about 18 months too late. :)

These past few episodes do feel like it's a new team writing. Totally different than the usual. I still didn't care too much for it though. I had waiting to find out the outcome.

Just watched this ep.

Wow.

How much did the creators of Second Life have to pay for product placement like that?

i've been seeing a lot of good reviews/ratings for this series lately. I've never been a huge CSI fan, but I don't hate the shows. They're ok. I watched a few eps of CSI-NY in the beginning of the first season, and thought it was ok, but not great. I thought it was just another knock-off, and didn't watch too much of it after that.

But, with all the ratings and reviews I've been seeing around the net for this series lately, and then seeing this thread, I thought I might start checking it out. Where's the best place to start? Was it that good from the beginning and does one need to start there? Or, can I get into it by just watching the last few eps? Should I start with season 2? season 3? or, season 4?

And, I've noticed that all the buzz seems to be restricted to just CSI-NY. The original CSI and CSI-Miami don't seem to have the same buzz at all. Is CSI-NY the best of the bunch now?

thanks ahead for any responses.

SL was featured on The Office on 10/25/07. I had never heard of SL until these 2 shows used them. I thought it was made up for CSI:NY.
